Stay in their own country if US is so damn cruel. That fact that we give them any consideration at all is due to our natural generosity, Maybe it is not how you want them to be treated by us, but WHY THE FUCK do they keep coming if we are as bad as people like you moan about? Why are passing all other countries as they go north to come to the US? But never seem to continue northward to Canada - the goshdarn huggable country that claims to welcome all as a publicity stunt?

Why are passing all other countries as they go north to come to the US?
Because the countries they are passing (Guatemala, Columbia) are all just as full of war and drugs as the country they are fleeing.

The thing is, the United States represents freedom and opportunity to people in these countries. That's why they come here. Telling them to stay in their own fucking country is not any use because their country was so much more terrible than not having English classes or a soccer ball.

How the hell does Central Americans pass Columbia on the way here?

Guatemala is so dangerous that tourism is one of their main economies. El Salvador has been going through an economic boom in recent years - primarily for the poorest 20% - so much so that it is the most equal Latin nation after Uruguay, and Uruguay is the richest Latin American nation per capita. Of the three largest Central American nations that contribute to the illegal migration to the US, only Honduras is really as bad as people want to make it out to be. There is no real drug war, just cocaine passing through from South America and if one stays out of the way of the ones demanding extortion and the ones protecting the drug caravan, it is no different than living in any inner city in America where we have our own gangbangers, many of them originating from those countries that you think of in terms of what others call a shithole, but would would pivot and condemn looking down on these very same shithole nations.

If things are so bad and dangerous, then reaching Mexico should be enough. The reason why they want to continue to the US is the same reason why the the Middle Eastern/North African illegal migrants wanted Germany and the other European nations they passed through was just nothing more than geographical challenges. When was the last time some "Syrian refugee" fleeing IS or government oppression asked for asylum in Greece instead of joining the caravan for Germany?

When I read the first FOUR words: Trump Takes English Classes--I was elated.
Then disappointed to read the rest of the title.

I was talking about migrants passing through Central America to reach the USA. That's how they get to Mexico.

Guatemala is a terrible place to live. So is Columbia. Their homicide rate is over 4x that of the US. Not to mention how bad their economy is. Colombia has a GDP of 309.2 billion compared to the United States' over 21 trillion.

I have no idea what you are talking about when you say that El Salvador is going through "an economic boom". They have a GDP of just over 20 billion. That's worse than Syria.

Fact is, these countries are doing nowhere near as good as the United States. Saying that they are doing great is just ignoring the problem and a cover for xenophobia. It's also BS too.

Please put some blue in all that black text next time you respond buddy! I would love some facts for once![/QUOTE]

Central Americans coming by land to the US does not pass Columbia, which is in SOUTH America.

I was talking about migrants passing through Central America to reach the USA. That's how they get to Mexico.

Guatemala is a terrible place to live.
Not our problem. Apply legally.

Columbia has the third strongest economy in South America, and they are not coming in droves.

El Salvador GPD growth in 2016 was 2.4%. In the same year under Obama, the great boom you liberals claim for the US was 1.6% In 2017 El Salvador GPD growth 2.3%, US 2.2%. 2018 El Salvador2.7% US 2.9%

Look at their growth in recent years, it has been more steady than our:

SEATTLE — Over the past few years, El Salvador has had the slowest growing economy in Central America. However, recent pro-business reforms and strong showings from the agricultural and industrial sectors indicate the potential strengthening of the economy. Doing Business ranked El Salvador as one of the world’s most improved economies of 2016-2017. Though the country still faces numerous social and fiscal obstacles, economic conditions appear to be improving.

Fact is, they are rapidly improving and cry as many rivers as you want, they should take a number and get in line and come legally if they want, or go head south to Costa Rica where they are declared welcomed. So knock it off with your BS claims about Xenophobia.

1. I said that yes, that was an error. What I meant was that the countries they are fleeing such as (Guatemala and Columbia) are not good countries nor can they top the USA.
2.See the thing is, they don't know how. All they see is "the land of the free". A place of opportunity and jobs for all.
3.Notice how you say the third strongest in South America. The whole continent doesn't have an economy even near the USA not to mention the drug problem in South America that kills dozens of families.
4.Yes but the GDP was 2.6% in 2015 and 2.4% in 2014. Obama pulled this country out of Bush's mess and nearly tripled the stock market. You are also comparing El Salvador to the United States. 2.6% of 24.81 billion in El Salvador's economy is a lot less than 1.6% of 21 trillion dollar US economy. Simple math their buddy.
5. While all of these countries are getting better, they provide nowhere near as many economic opportunities or peaceful streets. They have murder rates of nearly 4x of the US. It is really bad in South America. Acting otherwise to make a logical excuse for your xenophobia is just stupid buddy.;)

You really are misinformed:

Canada resettled more refugees than the United States in 2018, the first time the U.S. did not lead the world on this measure since the adoption of the Refugee Act in 1980, according to a Pew Research Center analysis of new data from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

Canada resettled 28,000 refugees last year, similar to its total in 2017. Meanwhile, the U.S. resettled 23,000, down from 33,000 the previous year – and a recent high of 97,000 in 2016. Several other leading countries for refugee resettlement, including Australia and the United Kingdom, also saw declines last year.
Canada now leads the world in refugee resettlement, surpassing the U.S.

You should do your research a little more before you post. More here:

THE OTHER BORDER 'CRISIS': While America is fixated on Mexico and the wall, thousands of migrants are fleeing for Canada in a dramatically different scene

But they "never" go to Canada, right?
