1. The US State Department has approved a potential arms sale to Taiwan, estimated to be worth $2.2bn (£1.76bn), the Pentagon said.

The deal is for 108 Abrams tanks, 250 Stinger missiles and related equipment.

China's foreign ministry has called on the US to "immediately cancel" the proposed sale....

2. The US had sold weapons to Taiwan many times since it established diplomatic relations with China. The US-Taiwan relationship is analogous to adultery committed by a scandal-hit husband. Seeing his wife could do nothing except lodging protests, the wayward husband became bolder day by day. In the end, he even brought his mistress from the city's red-light district to sleep in his wife's bed in broad daylight.

The wife's angry father might advise her, "At this critical phase of your married life, I can only sigh and shake my head in resignation if you still continue with your useless protests and refuse to dump that garbage. I have already found you a much better man. You can bring him home to show that hopeless guy anytime. This way is much better than protesting a thousand times." :halo:

Knowing Trump thinks foreign interference in a US election is perfectly fine, I'm sure China will handle this in a diplomatic fashion.

And right on cue, China whines bitterly. Interesting move in the middle of a pretty tense trade negotiation.

Geez, what is an island nation going to do with Abrams tanks and Stinger missiles? DEFEND itself against INVASION. Let Red China whine. If we sell the Republic of China a trebuchete, the Red Chinese would still bitch because that is what they do. Do you think Beijing had ever approved of any transactions and relationships between US and ROC ever since the KMT government in exile fled to Formosa?

Art of the Deal nonsense again? Give it a rest. Red China is not our friend, but our natural enemy that wants to replace the US and dominate the Globe through whatever means necessary short of a direct head to head war, for NOW.

As a Chinese saying goes, "A mountain cannot accommodate two tigers." Hence, Uncle Sam will always regards China, Russia or any large powerful country as his natural enemy regardless of colour -- blue, green, white, yellow, red or whatever.

There were signs that Truman regarded Chiang Kai-shek's China not as a real ally but with suspicion and caution. Chinese troops were noticeably absent in the so-called Allied forces which occupied Japan at the end of World War II. As Truman intentionally downplayed the roles of Chinese communists and Chiang Kai-shek's forces in defeating Japan in World War II, the Republic of China gradually became a forgotten ally of the US.

By the way, have you ever thought of any British extremist propagating the view in the last days of the British Empire that the US was his country's "natural enemy that wanted to replace the British Empire and dominate the globe through whatever means necessary short of a direct head to head war"?

On your part, you seem to be satisfied to remain forever in the lowest stratum of human existence, totally devoid of ambitions to replace anyone ahead or above you. :)
