What IS so wrong with the USA...?
The number one problem is overpopulation. Take care of that and a lot of our problems become much more manageable.
Let's create generations of Americans who are less sharing, have less energy [obese], drug addled, no time to spare, less patience, lacking money and no desire to raise large families..[or any kids at all] and within the next 100 years we might see a very welcome reduction.
Since I was born the USA population has more than doubled and our quality of life / standard of living has suffered in many ways. Those who are recently born into this mess have no point of reference to appreciate a time before so many people find themselves living like canned sardines in their 300 unit apartments and on the highways bumper to bumper every day.
I stopped the quote there to avoid killing the point with too much verbiage. If we can sustain a population of 150 million but have a growing population of 328 million, what does this mean for the future of our quality of life?
The U.S. Population Situation
- U.S. population at the beginning of 2019 was over 328 million.1
- U.S. population is growing by over 2,000,000 people per year -- that's 240 per hour -- about half from new births and half from immigration.1
- According to Global Footprint Network data, the U.S. can sustain a population of only about 150 million at a reduced consumption level similar to Europeans.
Of course, if all the undeserving people would only work harder and put in the effort to get richer that would resolve any problems we have, right? High schools are still graduating students who have no clue about this population problem and why they might want to avoid having large families.
