Yes, he does absolve himself of personal responsibility. And further since morality serves no transcendent purpose beyond the perpetuation of animated meat sacks he has no reason, either objective or subjective to do other than live and act entirely selfishly.

Wrong.
The impetus to act morally is based on the evolutionary idea of survival of the fittest. Most people mistake that idea to mean it applies to individuals. ALL evolutionary ideas apply to groups. Selfishness and true immorality are counterproductive to survival of the group.

And for most people who aren't psychotic or religious, acting morally pleases them.
