Unlike many, I find Trump amusing. If you take him seriously you’re missing the whole point of his presidency. Trump was already predicted by renowned US journalist H. L. Mencken over a century ago in the old adage:

"As democracy is perfected, the office of the President represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day, the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be occupied by a downright fool and a complete narcissistic moron."

In 2016 Mencken’s prophecy was realized. Forget about healing America; certainly a narcissist and arguably a sociopath he is no fool. Mr. Trump cleverly tapped into what underpins and remains the embodiment of American society – materialism. If Mr. Trump was a tube of toothpaste, he’d be the biggest selling product in US history.

"I will give you everything. I will give you what you’ve been looking for, for 50 years. I’m the only one."

Mr. Trump bypassed politics and using himself as a brand name and MAGA as a slogan sold himself as a product to a society which maintains a hierarchy status of ‘winners’ and ‘losers’.

The son of wealthy Fred Trump who made his fortune in real estate, Donald was initially loaned $1m, which over his father’s lifetime turned into an estimated $60m (far more allowing for current inflation), most of which he failed to repay. On his father’s advice he invested in real estate and in turn became wealthy himself. In line with the current trend for ‘B’ rated celebrities to become social Ambassador’s, Donald’s narcissist and egoistic nature led him into believing that he was also the world’s best businessman. What he actually is, is a salesman and hustler and just about every business he got involved with collapsed. From Trump steaks at $999, to a Trump university that produced false advertising lawsuits which cost him $25m, a bankrupt Trump airlines and his crowning glory, starting a mortgage company just before the big recession (Duh!) … Trumps Business Empire is one disaster after another.

In Trumps world, America is doing ‘just great.’ Unmentioned in 2017 are the highest rate of bankruptcies in American history.

The trade wars proposed by Peter Navarro, Trumps trade secretary, which he suggested no one would dare to oppose resulted in return tariffs which in 2019 alone cost the tax payer an estimated $16bn in bail outs for American farmers.

The North Korean summit after promises of ‘Fire and Fury’, in which Trump was both outsmarted and sent packing with promises …

Trump will come and go and his eventual departure will go largely unnoticed because despite the rhetoric, he hasn’t actually done anything he promised. Trump was a self-advertising campaign, nothing more, nothing less.

Yet having said that, ironically be grateful for Trump. Behind him are characters such as Gina Haspel, the new UN Ambassador. Haspel’s background as CIA head and active participant in the (black site) interrogation torture center in Thailand qualify her for Freddie Kruger’s role in Nightmare on Elm Street! Or what about Elliott Abrams, currently US special envoy to Venezuela. Formerly a US Diplomat in Central America under Reagan, Abrams was convicted and jailed for complicity in supplying arms to death squads. Ironically, his title was actually Assistant Secretary of State for Human Rights in El Salvador. When people like Pence, or the recently disgraced Bolton become president, then start worrying.

trump has spread racism which has caused many to be killed, attacked and harmed. That's not amusing.

The following article doesn't include all the recent horrific acts trump inspired including the New Zealand killer who massacred 50 people calling trump his symbol of White Identity. Or the Jewish killings, El Paso, etc. etc. All using trump's rhetoric, word for word, to kill.

Here Is a List of Far-Right Attackers Trump Inspired. Cesar Sayoc Wasn’t the First — and Won’t Be the Last.

Trump didn’t produce any more racism than was actually there already. The amusement comes from those who think he did. BLM was already out and about in the Obama years complaining of racism. What people do in Trumps name is hardly Trumps fault, just as Antifa hitting people over the head isn’t Obama’s fault, or anyone else’s either. The American left are obsessed with racism and Nazism.

Trump is not amusing unless you think an unleashed, untrained Pitbull is also amusing or maybe more appropriately swimming with a Great White Shark. Does that sound like fun? You enjoy the idea of being mauled?
Trump has never been housebroken or properly schooled on the finer points of.....well...just about any social skill you can think of. Add to that the fact that he's ignorant, illiterate, and a sexual predator---so amusing.
In fact, Trump's catalog of cruelties is hard to measure and if Trump was a terror unto himself, that might be something we could LIVE with....but oh no! Trump encourages everyone else in this country to act out as well.
Put a list together of all the worst qualities you can think of. Trump's got every one of them. Every. Single. One.

Don't bother denying it.

Who’s denying what Trump is? Yet what has he done? Has he built a wall? Locked Hillary up? Produced racism? Has he stopped your welfare? If you’re working did he make you unemployed? What ‘cruelties’ has he been responsible for? You mean put illegal immigrants into deportation centers? That’s what every government in the world does. Half the country don’t support him, are they ‘acting out’ as well? You got drawn into the hype Clara. :)

So your point is that Trump and Obama are equally shitty politicians? And Obama supporters are just as ignorant and racist as Trumpsters?

Just as Obama stood by and did nothing about the violence of Antifa and BLM.
he really didn't do anything about the violence by Law Enforcement officers, which is the reason BLM was protesting, either

Obama always tried to be moderate, and I feel he was too moderate regarding this issue. Not sure what he could have done but I just wish he spoke out about it more than he did.

I have a friend who is a huge BLM supporter, and he's no fan of Obama because of that, which I understand as well.

And don't think killing of unarmed black men and women by police has stopped, it just isn't dominating the headlines, because trump hogs those now

Mmm, the law enforcement shootings started to rise under Obama. Obama did have meetings with BLM in the White House while he was president. Maybe you’d like to get statistics on black on black killings and police shootings and see who cause the most carnage? Perhaps take all police officers off the streets for a week and see what happens? Perhaps you could try being a police officer and get to see the other side of it?
